Your privacy
RMLP is run by Robert Parkinson in Alberta, Canada. You can play and save your puzzles without allowing optional analytics.
Saving your puzzles
A secure cookie recognizes this browser so it can retrieve your saved puzzles. Our server stores a random browser ID, protected access information, and your progress, moves, scores and save dates. No name or email is needed to play. The cookie expires after 90 days without renewal.
Your browser also stores instruction preferences, security information and unsent progress. Clearing site storage can remove access to saved puzzles; it does not delete the server's copies.
Optional analytics
Analytics stay off unless you choose Allow analytics. To understand how the site is used and how players do on the puzzles, we then record visits, returning browsers, time with a page visible, completions, reveals, result copies, and game, donation and feedback link clicks. We record the referring website, without its page path or query.
These records have dates and times, use random IDs, and can link to your saved puzzles and scores. They are not fully anonymous.
Choose Necessary only to leave analytics off. Change your choice through Privacy settings in any page footer; a cookie remembers it in this browser for up to 180 days. Turning analytics off stops future collection, but does not delete earlier records. Requests already sent may finish.
How long we keep information
We will remove detailed analytics from our live database within 90 days of collection. We will also delete saved puzzles within 90 days of their creation. We may keep anonymous summary statistics. Feedback we receive currently has no fixed deletion date. We will delete backups within 90 days of creation, so they can remain after information is removed from the live database.
Delete my data
You can delete the saved puzzles, progress, results and individual analytics records linked to this browser, along with its browser identity. This also clears local game data and the identification cookie, and switches analytics to Necessary only. Open puzzle tabs will return to this page. Your saved progress cannot be recovered through the site; playing again starts fresh.
Deletion removes your browser’s records from our active database. Older copies may remain in routine backups until those backups are deleted. It does not remove server logs, anonymous summary statistics, or feedback and emails submitted separately.
This uses the secure cookie already in this browser. It cannot find records from other browsers or devices, or from an earlier cookie that was cleared or expired. For help with those records or separately submitted feedback, please contact us.
Hosting and feedback
RMLP is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the United States. Our servers process IP addresses to deliver pages and prevent abuse. Server logs can contain IP addresses, requested URLs, referring URLs and browser information.
The feedback form sends your message and optional email address to Formspree for delivery to us and to help us respond. Formspree processes information in the United States, including connection information such as your IP address; see its privacy policy.
To ask about your information, request access, correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, contact Robert through the feedback form.
